Collaboration to develop and use range of thermal barrier products will continue in 2013

OXFORD – Following two successful years, Team Dynojet is to continue its technical partnership with thermal barrier specialists Zircotec. The team’s BTCC Toyota Avensis, driven by Frank Wrathall, uses a range of Zircotec’s products, ultimately offering gains in performance, reliability and safety.

“We started to use Zircotec’s exhaust coatings as way of solving reliability issues,” says Frank Wrathall Snr. “However, we realised that it offered much more. Under bonnet temperatures were reduced, thus lowering the charge temperature, resulting in more power. This was coupled to improved turbo response. We could also cut the cockpit temperatures, making it more comfortable for the driver.”

As part of the partnership agreement, Team Dynojet provides valuable feedback to Zircotec’s technicians on development parts and provides a useful test bed for new products. “We have launched ZircoFlex® Gold this year, offering insulation and radiant heat protection in a single product,” says Zircotec’s sales director Peter Whyman. “We plan to test this on the Avensis in 2013.”
