Volvo support helps Team Sky Bradley Wiggins Tour triumph

Winning is only possible when you have the best back-up. That’s why, since Team Sky launched in January 2010, both Volvo Trucks and Volvo Bus & Coach have been at the heart of the race support crew with two high-tech mobile workshops mounted on Volvo FH-500 chassis and two custom-built 9700 coaches for the riders, team physios and soigneurs.

While the FH workshops were used by the mechanics during the 3,200km race to repair and fettle the riders’ super lightweight Pinarello Dogma bikes, the 9700 coaches became a sanctuary away from the hurly burly surrounding the world’s most famous cycle race as they provided luxurious transport to and from the team accommodation each day.

Supporting our customers, optimising uptime and working with them every step of the way, in freight and passenger transport, is central to our business philosophy. That’s why Volvo Group UK is proud to be associated with Team Sky and to have played a key supporting role in helping them achieve the ultimate accolade in cycle sport – first place on the winner’s rostrum at the Tour de France. Go Bradley !
