Volvo Trucks has received two top awards in the prestigious Epica 2012 International Creative Awards for the launch of the new Volvo FH.
The Gold awards were received in two categories, ‘Automotive & Accessories’ – with the Ballerina Stunt which created a YouTube viral film success seen by in excess of 6.5m people worldwide – and ‘Automotive Interactive’ for the launch site on eBay.
“It feels great to be recognised for our campaigns,” says Per Nilsson, Director Public Relations Volvo Trucks. “The Ballerina Stunt and the eBay auction were just two elements in the launch that represented a new way for us to communicate, generating fantastic publicity and helping us to reach a much wider audience.”
The Epica Awards were created in 1987 and represent a wide range of communication disciplines including ads, Press, PR and Interactive and Integrated Campaigns. In 2012 the awards were judged by journalists representing 41 specialist trade press titles and websites from 34 countries.
