VOLKSWAGEN COMMERCIAL VEHICLES INCREASES CUSTOMER DELIVERIES WORLDWIDE TO END OF APRIL BY 6.1 PER CENT

Hanover, 10 May 2012: In the first four months of the year the Brand delivered 174,200 light commercial vehicles worldwide. This represents a year-on-year growth of 6.1 per cent compared to the same period last year (January - April 2011: 164,200 vehicles).

Amarok deliveries worldwide rose by 36.2 per cent to 24,500 vehicles (January - April 2011: 18,000). Deliveries of the Crafter went up by 35.2 per cent to 15,600 units (January - April 2011: 11,600). Caddy and T5 maintained their high level of last year: deliveries of the T5 Series rose by 3.5 per cent to 52,700 units (January - April 2011: 50,900); worldwide deliveries of the Caddy went down by a minimal 0.2 per cent year-on-year to 49,600 (January - April 2011: 49,700).

Deliveries of the Brand in Western Europe for the period January to April 2012 were up by 4.9 per cent, to 93,600 vehicles (January - April 2011: 89,300). This sets Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles clearly apart from competitors and from the market environment.

In Eastern Europe, deliveries to the end of April went up by 35.0 per cent to 13,700 vehicles (January - April 2011: 10,100).

Germany was the highest volume European market for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in the first four months of 2012, with a growth of 9.8 per cent to 39,600 customer deliveries (January - April 2011: 36,000). In the first quarter of this year the Caddy, T5, Crafter and Amarok were the top performers, with a total combined market share of 32 per cent.
