Stolen Vehicle Recovery Solutions Set to Benefit the Agricultural Market

Alarming new figures from NFU Mutual estimate that approximately £1.5million of construction and agricultural machinery is stolen every week in the UK.  Recognising a pressing need to step up the campaign against ‘agri-crime’, stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) expert, TRACKER, has joined forces with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Agricultural Specialist arm to offer preferential rates to its agricultural customers on the TRACKER range of vehicle and equipment protection solutions.

Comments Stephen Doran, Managing Director for TRACKER:  “The new partnership is well timed as ‘agri-crime’ continues to make news headlines.  The loss of equipment to farmers cannot be underestimated.  Not only is it a huge inconvenience, they face significant financial loss.  The addition of our stolen vehicle recovery solutions to the existing suite of RBS ‘financial protection’ products, will bring greater security at a vulnerable time.”

What’s more RBS agricultural customers will be able to take advantage of TRACKER’s recently launched Battery Powered TRACKER Retrieve.  Designed specifically to benefit the plant and agricultural market, Battery Powered TRACKER Retrieve has been developed using TRACKER’s award winning VHF technology, yet does not rely on equipment having its own power source in order to operate.  With just five percent of stolen agricultural equipment ever recovered each year, this latest innovation from TRACKER promises to further close the net on thieves by helping police quickly locate a wider range of stolen plant and construction equipment.

TRACKER’s range of SVR products work like electronic homing devices. A covert transmitter is hidden in one of several dozen places around the agricultural vehicle or machinery. There is no visible aerial, so the thief won’t even know it’s there. Unlike other systems, TRACKER’s devices work no matter where the vehicle or equipment is hidden, even if taken abroad, offering owners the ultimate protection against the permanent loss of their assets should the worst happen.

The only SVR solution operated by all 52 police forces in the UK, TRACKER offers the most advanced tracking devices on the market.  Its systems are Thatcham approved, and recognised by leading rural insurers, including NIG Farmweb, who offer discounts off premiums if they have a TRACKER device installed.  This potentially brings even greater savings to RBS agricultural customers.

Concludes Stephen Doran, Managing Director for TRACKER: “TRACKER figures show that a staggering 68 percent of all plant and agricultural equipment we recover is done so within 24 hours of the TRACKER device being activated and 10 percent of those are recovered within just one hour.   With agricultural crime estimated to cost the British countryside more than £50 million a year, our partnership with RBS Group can only serve to bring peace of mind to those agricultural vehicle and equipment owners who invest in a TRACKER unit.”
