IMPERIAL I-Pledge, the event’s official corporate social investment partner, and KZN Department of Transport, is using the first ever Top Gear Festival in Durban, as the perfect opportunity to showcase road safety to festival visitors and to the city in a fun, interactive way.
The intensive education, empowerment and information campaign planned for the youth of Durban is carefully planned to leave a legacy in the city. The campaign includes a master class in mechanics and technology for 1000 learners from schools in eThekwini, art competitions for primary schools, and best of all a chance for 15 unemployed youth from 3 pre-selected rural areas, to win a bursary to get their driver’s licenses.
The campaign is already in full flow with the first promotions taking place in Umlazi on the 26th May and Kwa Mashu on the 27th May as a motorcade of supercars wound its way through the township, ending at the Mega City and Bridgecity Malls creating massive excitement. This activity attracted 1200 pledges for this important cause.
