SA National Defence Force at the Rand Show 2012
The Rand Show is pleased to welcome back a major attraction in its line-up of top-class entertainment: the SA National Defence Force.
Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga, spokesperson for the SANDF, said they were delighted at the opportunity to once again showcase and share the SANDF’s technology and readiness with all South Africans.
It is a delight that is sure to be mirrored by show goers. Last year, after a long absence from the Rand Show, the SANDF made a huge comeback at Nasrec.
Its extensive outdoor exhibitions and displays proved to be a massive hit with families – so big in fact, that show goers rated it the top highlight of the Rand Show 2011.

Rand Easter Show funfair the Biggest in South Africa
A grand dame of Rand Shows gone by, the fabled Looping Star roller coaster is back. Rather more electrifying than the scenic ride of the monorail, the train on the Looping Star will pull you 20 metres into the sky before dropping you upside down into the legendary loop, at speeds of over 60 kilometres an hour.
But that’s not the only thrill awaiting you. This old favourite will be joined by a host of other thrill-generating
regulars. Do you have what it takes to survive the 17-metre free-fall of theDropTower, the G-force power of the Quasar, or the free-falling sensations of the Crazy Wave.
Spectacular Fire Tunnel Rides at Rand Easter Show
World record holders Enrico Schoeman and Andre de Kock will ride their Kawasaki powered Australian sidecar through a
on four separate occasions.
The 30-metre long tunnel, comprising a steel frame and cardboard walls, will be erected in the showground’s arena.
Every afternoon on Good Friday, Saturday April 7, Sunday April 8 and Easter Monday, the construction will be doused with diesel and petrol.
International show will make a huge splash at the Rand Show 2012
A first for South Africa, and exclusive to this year’s Rand Show, comes an
