ABSA National Off Road Championship
23 August, 2010 Pretoria –Team Ford Racing’s bid for top honours in the ABSA National Off Road Championship continues at the 4×4 Mega World 400. The Carnival City-based event takes place from 27 to 28 August with insiders anticipating some unexpected outcomes and close fought racing.
There’s little to choose between the front runners in the Class SP Championship. The four leading crews are separated by just 16 points with Ford’s Neil Woolridge and Kenny Skjoldhammer currently lying fourth in the title bout.
“It’s extremely close at the front,” says Neil. “We’ve had some unexpected results this season making for an exciting and close fought battle. It’s wide open at the moment and with four rounds still to go every point is coveted.”
Lance Woolridge and Ward Huxtable lead the Class E championship in their Ford Ranger TDCi. The pair made their intentions clear by claiming victory on the previous event and will be aiming to further extend their lead with another strong performance.
“We’re looking forward to the event. The organisers have indicated that we can expect another tough event with a great deal of varied terrain and challenging route,” adds Lance.
The 4×4 Mega World 400 will offer plenty of opportunity for spectators to enjoy the fast-paced event. This year’s event also promises a large field further adding to the overall spectacle.
“We know we’re in for a challenge but we’re confident of a strong outing. Our cars emerged from the previous event relatively unscathed allowing us to concentrate on preparation for this event,” concludes Neil.
