SUBARU – VOTED AS THE MOST LOVED VEHICLES IN SOUTH AFRICA, FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING

  • Subaru voted number 1 for dealer service involvement and engagement
  •  Voted number 3 overall out of 19 brands nationally

Valentine's Day

Subarus have once again been voted as the most loved vehicles in South Africa. This top honour, as voted for by Subaru owners, comes for the second year running in which the brand has achieved this, in the influential RamsayMedia Research Solutions SA AutoBrand Survey of 2012.

Subaru has always enjoyed an intensely strong and loyal support from its owner base, many of whom have owned multiple Subarus over the brand’s 20 years of existence in SA, with vehicles passed down through the family tree. With a driving experience second to none and the highest levels of safety on the market, it comes as no surprise that Subaru has emerged as most loved brand, for both years of the survey’s existence.

The SA AutoBrand survey, which evaluates everything from vehicle satisfaction, dealer professionalism and staff friendliness to courtesy car availability and fixing problems first time, saw Subaru out-perform considerably stronger and larger brands (particularly those from Germany), despite being a smaller brand in South Africa. Highlights also included top marks for areas such as keeping promises, customers’ vehicles being properly cleaned, manager availability and vehicles being ready on time. Subaru placed first overall for dealer service, something the brand is exceptionally proud of. The high levels of customer satisfaction not only act as feathers in Subaru’s cap, but also provide further motivation and add momentum to dealers to continue to provide a world-class customer experience.

Also evaluating vehicle ownership in aspects including perceived resale values, marque consideration, and the brand’s ‘hot buttons’ which customers consider during the purchasing decision phase, also saw Subaru fare well – good quality vehicles being the most important aspect as divulged by customers. The overall results speak for themselves – Subaru was ranked third overall in the country, sharing the podium with the likes of BMW and Audi, and out-ranking all other 17 brands.

The SA AutoBrand Survey 2012, the second annual automotive brand survey from RamsayMedia Research Solutions, received 6 486 responses covering 19 marques, making it the biggest and most comprehensive stand-alone survey of the SA motor vehicle market. The survey targeted readers of RamsayMedia titles, which include CAR, Leisure Wheels, Automobil and Toyota Zone magazines, and the members of the Retail Motor Industry (RMI), measuring customers’ satisfaction as well their needs and perceptions in respect of all the automotive brands on the market.

Fitting then, that during the ‘month of love’, Subarus have emerged as the most loved vehicles in South Africa.

Subaru and its dealer network wishes all South African motorists a happy Valentine’s Day.
