A judge of the competition commented: “This is an elaborately-created vehicle design embodying SUV elements which will fit all roads and conditions. Encompassing stability, all-road-capability and versatility in one package, the car reflects the result of steady evolution achieved over the long-time pursuit of SUV simplicity and balance. The combination of stable handling and supreme high-quality design, with features such as seats which focus on the fundamentals and the highly-functional inside door handles, has resulted in high level automobile design.”

On show at the Good Design Exhibition in Tokyo on the back of receiving its award, the all-new Subaru Forester can now add its striking design to a long list of accolades which include five-star Euro NCAP and ANCAP safety ratings as well as the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award for safety – the only compact SUV ever to achieve this.

Subaru Southern Africa Marketing Manager, Ashley Lazarus, says: “The fourth-generation Subaru Forester is evolutionary in its design and engineering, and we are of course very proud of this design achievement. Not only is the new Forester our most balanced, focused and dynamically advanced Forester ever, but it’s an ergonomically-sound, good-looker as well.”
