Park your soccer boots and start your engines as South Africa welcomes the finest in automotive excellence to Expo Centre, Johannesburg from the 6th-16th October.
Once again it will put the South African vehicle market in the international spotlight and give the public, media and the industry a chance to see the latest vehicles from around the world. It promises to showcase the latest offerings and the exciting news is that many of the vehicles and concept cars will arrive just days after the Frankfurt Motor Show, ensuring that you get a chance to see the very latest models as well as many that could find their way into your local showroom in years to come.
Whether you have petrol coursing through your veins or are simply interested in the family runabout of the future, Johannesburg International Motor Show promises to have something for everyone. From budget beaters to the supercars that dreams are made of, manufacturers from around the world will be pulling out all the stops to entice and entertain visitors to their stands across a number of halls at the Expo Centre. If you are searching for adrenalin, then this year’s show is going to be even more interactive than ever.
Take it slow over the obstacles on the off-road course, or if sideways is your thing then experience the skill of drifting, or marvel at the control of a rally car. There will be plenty to entertain the whole family too, including a Lifestyle area. The Expo Centre has even more to offer this year following a world class R30 million refurbishment programme that puts it on a par with some of the finest exhibition centres in the world and is set to ensure a world class experience for visitors and exhibitors alike.
If horsepower is your thing, the Johannesburg Truck and Bus Show will run alongside the Motor Show. The biggest and best from around the world will be present to showcase the future of trucking with a whole hall as well as outside exhibits dedicated to displaying these kings of the road.
Then what better place to stamp out your individuality than the multitude of aftermarket suppliers. Whether you are looking for unique headlights, a spoiler to improve your downforce or the latest in in-car entertainment, there will be plenty to help you make your vehicle your own. “Johannesburg International Motor Show will not only put the focus back on the South African motor industry in 2011, but will give visitors of all ages a chance to see the cars of today and the transport of the future,” said organiser and SA Shows managing director, Pula Dippenaar.
