Stephen SwordThe Tyco Suzuki MX team completed their final pre-season test of the year at the weekend, as the team competed in the opening round of the Scottish Motocross Championship at Leuchars.

With less than a week to go before the opening round of the British Championship kicks off at Fat Cat Moto Parc near Doncaster, the team took the opportunity to ride at the first round of the Scottish series, with Stephen Sword returning to his homeland and Stuart Edmonds making the trip across the water to get in valuable race time.

Fresh from the recent Hawkstone International event, Sword continued to work on rear-end set-up, making great progress by taking a second place finish in the opening race, before a crash in the second halted further progress.

In the MX2 class, Edmonds used the day to get further acquainted with his RM-Z250, demonstrating yet again the ease at which the Irish rider has made the switch to Suzuki by riding to a trio of second place finishes.

Stuart EdmondsTeam manager, Adam Lyons: "That completes our pre-season test schedule and I'm pleased to say we've concluded it feeling generally positive. Stephen has pretty much nailed the set-up issue that he's been working on and Stuart continues to feel more and more at home on Suzuki. Having a full-season under our belt as a team makes a huge difference. While we're working with new riders this year, we have a great team of guys behind them that put in 100% at all times. I'm very confident that we can do our sponsors and our fans proud in 2012."

The team will now begin final preparation for the opening round of the British Championship that takes place this Sunday (11th March), with track action beginning at 09.00am.
