After a sensational debut podium at the opening round at Phillip Island in Australia in February, Dutch rider Michael van der Mark continued to show impressive speed and maturity during the test.

He was joined by Italian team-mate Lorenzo Zanetti as the pair put their World Supersport Honda CBR600RRs through their paces at the 4km Motorland Aragon circuit which lies 250km west of Barcelona.

The team will now return to base in The Netherlands, leaving bikes and equipment in Spain before reconvening at Aragon for the second round World Supersport championship race, which will take place on Sunday 14 April.

We tried a lot of different things over the first two days of this Aragon test and we were happy with the race pace that we found in simulations. I wasn’t able to find a really good lap and the final day was wet in the morning and then it rained again in the afternoon. But I know the areas where I need to improve during the race weekend. I’m going to enjoy a few days of relaxing now and I can’t wait to get back on the bike again here next week.

We went through a lot of different settings to try and improve the feeling I have with the bike and I was happy with the positive progress that we made. The times were OK but I still need to find a bit more to be closer to Michael. We have some work to do still but I’m confident that we can make another step here next week and I think improve on my position in Phillip Island.

Our Supersport test here at Aragon has been pretty good, really. Michael was able to keep improving his times and we were able to improve the electronics on the CBR some more, too. It was also a positive few days for Lorenzo so were are feeling confident for when the team returns to Aragon for round two next weekend
