Plant and Waste Recycling Show, Paignton, 12th -14th June 2012 Boughton Engineering – Stand M4
Premier general and municipal vehicle hire company, Gullivers, gave Boughton Engineering a big boost on the first day of PAWRS today – an order for a further ten hook loaders for its spot hire fleet. The order was formally presented to Boughton Group Managing Director, Richard Skan by Philippe Harding, Managing Director of Bristol-based Gullivers at the show.
All the new units will be fitted with Boughton’s latest 8/32C hook loader and Kwikcova CM auto sheeting package on Mercedes Axor 3236K 8×4 chassis. The specification includes the Boughton ‘C’ type universal container locking system, which enables the unit to safely handle variable rail width containers – and not just containers manufactured to the CHEM specification.
Gullivers vehicles also feature stabiliser jacks on the rear and Boughton’s automatic hook safety pin system. Electric/air-over-hydraulic, hook loader operating controls are located in the cab, with an external four-lever valve chest to operate the Kwikcova auto sheeting system. Boughton’s patented retractable operating arm width extender arrangement is incorporated, to facilitate full width container handling within legally permitted dimensions. The vehicles are also fitted with sheet and pin tube carriers
The Mercedes Benz Axor 3236K 8-wheelers are fitted the manual G221-9 gearbox and factory fitted power take off. The vehicles also feature a vertical exhaust stack fitted behind a standard day cab.
Group Managing Director, Richard Skan says, “We are delighted to be able to announce this order on the first day of the show and we are extremely grateful for the further confidence which Gullivers are expressing in Boughton Engineering. Gullivers already have a number of Boughton equipped vehicles in their fleet and we recognise that, in their particular type of operation, quality and reliability, backed by strong service support are as critical to their business as to ours”.
