Opel Meriva-55

Port Elizabeth, 18 September 2013 – Opel’s revolutionary Meriva continues to offer an innovative and ergonomic design in an elegant and refined package. To increase the value offered to customers, General Motors South Africa has consolidated the Meriva range into one key model, the new 1.4 Turbo Enjoy model available with higher levels of specification than before.

“The Opel Meriva is an elegantly-styled family vehicle packed with an array of innovative features engineered to optimise the flexible and easy use of space. Unique features such as the FlexRail centre console storage system allow the driver to configure the vehicle to suit his or her needs. The Meriva’s capabilities as an all-round family vehicle are further enhanced by the FlexSpace rear seating system coupled with the rear-hinged FlexDoors to make it a versatile family vehicle. These are just some of the reasons why the Meriva has proven to be a popular choice in this segment and we are confident that we can continue this trend in South Africa with the new, refined Turbo Enjoy model,” says Opel Brand Manager at General Motors South Africa, Chris Cradock.

The Meriva continues use the same 103 kW turbocharged 1.4-litre ECOTEC® petrol engine which has 200 Nm of torque. Average fuel economy on the combined cycle is 6.7-litres per 100 km and carbon emissions are 156 g/km.

Existing equipment which includes a six-speed manual gearbox, ABS with EBD and BAS, six airbags, an electronic parking brake, traction- and stability control, 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, Bluetooth and USB compatibility for the audio system and ISOFIX child seat anchors, are all still fitted as standard.
