Fireworks New Year ChinaThe Chinese New Year starts on the 23rd of January 2012. Unlike New Year in western worlds the Chinese New Year is celebrated for 15 days.

Most Chinese people also spend a week pefore the "Spring Festival" to clean their houses. The ritual of cleaning your house before the new "lunar year" involves cleaning your house thoroughly. Many Chinese people will also use this time to get rid of broken appliances and furniture. The Spring Clean is also used to adjust "Feng Shui" and to make sure that the house is clean from evil or bad spirits.

This form a very important part in the Chinese New Year preparations. During the Chinese New Year they will also decorate their homes with red paper cones and paper decorations. These decorations simbolize wealth, prosperity and are supposed to bring luck to the home.
