Citroën has released a beautiful series of photographs for the holiday season in which the aviation-inspired New DS5, the latest model in the distinctively styled DS line, poses under the wings of the classic Concorde aircraft, just as the legendry DS did in its heyday.
The pictures were taken at Le Bourget Airport, France by Laurent Nivalle, a photographer at Citroën Styling. The shoot was part of an initiative by the ‘C-Forum’ Citroën fan club and plays on the aviation theme that inspired the design of DS5.
With pilot-style overhead switches inspired by plane cockpits, a head-up display and a roof divided into three light wells, the aviation design cues are clear to see. Immaculate attention to detail and authentic premium materials also ensure an immediate impression of quality and refinement.
Having already claimed Top Gear Magazine’s ‘Family Car of the Year’ accolade in the publication’s 2011 awards, DS5 stands apart from its rivals with its intelligent design, aerodynamic body and advanced onboard technologies. As such, DS5 embodies the finest in French luxury and brings motorists a truly exceptional driving experience.
DS5 will be launched in the UK in March 2012.
