The inventor of the automobile has every reason to celebrate! For the automobile’s 125th anniversary the brand is on track for the most successful year ever.
“We are delighted with the announcement of the South African 2011 Synovate Quality Awards for product quality, where Mercedes-Benz made an impressive sweep of a total of five Gold awards and a Platinum award,” says Eckart Mayer, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz South Africa.
The awards received are:
Top Hatch – Mercedes-Benz A-Class
Medium – Mercedes-Benz C-Class
Top Executive – Mercedes-Benz E-Class
MPV/Station Wagon – Mercedes-Benz B-Class
Large R/V – Mercedes-Benz M-Class
Overall category awards: Passenger vehicles:
“Best Local Plant manufacturing” passenger vehicles
Best Luxury passenger car brand overall
“We are pleased to see that in recognition of all these awards a discretionary Platinum Award for exceptional performance across all segments has also been awarded. We would like to thank Synovate for recognising our achievements through this highest accolade,” adds Mayer.
Synovate confirms that the scores have levelled out over the last couple of years, however, the manufacturers have managed to reverse the trend and have achieved record scores.
“Quality and innovation has been one of the key pillars for the Mercedes-Benz successes since the innovation of the automobile 125 years ago. We never rest on our previous successes, we continue striving to be number one in customer satisfaction. These scores are the best that we have ever achieved, and clearly support the brand promise made already by one of our founders, Gottlieb Daimler: “The Best or Nothing” added Mayer. “It is always encouraging to receive such positive feedback from our customers, especially if this covers our entire model range”
“2011 has seen the most exciting product launches we have ever had, with a number of cool, sport and fascinating new vehicles, whilst at the same time achieving massive improvements when it comes to environmental compatibility, reducing fuel consumption and emissions dramatically.
These new models include the SLK roadster, the new-generation C-Class sedan and estate with more than 2 000 new components and the all-new C-Class Coupé. We have no doubt that we will continue our success story,” concludes Mayer.
