The new Fishing Data Enhancement chart is compatible with the acclaimed Lowrance range of stand-alone GPS and combo units.

What is even more exciting is that Southern African anglers will be the first in the world to get this latest version.

“We are very fortunate that Lowrance, internationally, is in the forefront of innovation, and in tight economic times it is very important to be right on top,” says Liz Plotz, Managing Director of Lowrance South Africa.

“We always have something exciting and new to launch, and the Platinum + Fishing Data is just one example of our impressive range of boating aftermarket products.”

Brainchild of Navionics, world leaders in electronic charting and navigation data, the new “Fishing Data” enhancement chart features an  ingenious “layering” capability with high density contours and a high level of detail from shallow waters to offshore canyons –pinpointing pinnacles, drop-offs and other enriched depth-sounding information.

Clear 3D images (magnifying the contours) – give deep-sea anglers the edge when it comes to finding those elusive contour-hugging “Big Fish”.

“According to anglers who have had a chance to see them in action – these are the best charts they have ever seen,” says John Minnie, Technical Manager for Lowrance. And they cover vast fishing territory including SE Africa’s coast, Madagascar, South Africa, Mozambique, Commores, Mauritius and Reunion among others.

The Lowrance team will proudly show off this amazing chart and their other state-of-the art electronic equipment including HDS fishfinder/GPS/radar units and affordable Elite and Mark-5X DSI (Down Scan Imaging) stand-alone units and hand-held GPS’s among others – at their stand in the exhibition hall.

They’ll also update you on the new mapping charts for inland anglers which are flying off dealers’ shelves countrywide.

Detailed mapping for more than 40 inland dams is now available – for all current Lowrance chart plotters – including contour-lines and depth markers on the most popular fishing dams – as well as outlines for many others.

Sonic Hub units, OceanLED underwater lights and other exciting products will also be on show and boaters can look forward to this exciting weekend filled with loads of boating and outdoor products and action.

“We are very excited about the Johannesburg Boat Show,” says Plotz, adding it is “extremely positive that the SA boating industry is taking charge of its own destiny.
