Phil Popham is the Managing Director of Land Rover. He was appointed to the position in April 2006.
Formerly Director of Land Rover European Operations, he has a background in sales and marketing, including assignments in South Africa and the United States.
Phil, 40, joined Land Rover as a graduate trainee in 1988, having completed his Business Studies degree at the University of Aston. He progressed through senior positions in the company, including Marketing Director in South Africa from 1995 to 1997 and Vice President of Marketing for Land Rover North America from 1998 to 1999.
After two years with Volkswagen, Phil returned to Land Rover in 2001 as UK Sales Director, where he presided over two years of record breaking sales volume and profit. In March 2003 he was promoted to Managing Director of Jaguar and Land Rover’s UK operations and in February 2006 took over his prior role.
Phil, who lives in Warwickshire, is married with two young children. He is a keen supporter of West Bromwich Albion Football Club.
