John Wisden was born in the United Kingdom, England in Brighton Sussex on the 5th of September 2013. He died on the 5th of April 1884 at the age of 57 in Westminster, London, England. He was a right handed batsman. His Bowling style were underarm and also a slow bowler.
His bowling average were 10.32 and he took 1,109 First Class wickets during his career. John Wisden were an all-rounder and his bowling were almost as good as his batting. During his carreer he scored 4,140 First Class runs and his batting average were 14.12 per game. (This was a very Good batting average for the time).
He played almost all of his cricket in England, but he travelled with a touring team led by George Parr to Canada and the US in 1859, where eight matches in Montreal, Hoboken, Philadelphia, Hamilton and Rochester were won easily. Since 1855 Wisden had been in partnership with Fred Lillywhite, who organised the North American tour. They ran a tobacconist and sports outfitting business in London’s West End, but this did not survive the trip.
