Renowned for being a great day out for the whole family, the Rand Show is always on the lookout for new, quality entertainment to add to its impressive list of attractions. This year, the Rand Show is proud to host the Naledi-award-winning family musical, African Adventure.

Created by Paisley Production, African Adventure is a humorous musical with a strong conservation theme. The show premiered last year to great acclaim. Described by critics as “a witty, entertaining and well-representative story about the animals inSouth Africa”, and “a great way to introduce kids to live theatre”, African Adventure is sure to hit an equally high note with Rand Show audiences.

This 100% local production teams budding young performers with creative muppet-like puppets to tell the story of two rhinos under threat in the African bush.

The puppets are animated and voiced by Musical Theatre student performers from SAPAC/Oakfields College, who appear on stage unconcealed from the audience.

With upbeat original music, singing, dancing and humour, Ricky and Rachael Rhino, Lynette the Posh Giraffe, Malcolm the Funky Monkey and Olivia the Ostrich ‘diva’ will bring home a powerful message to young audiences about the need to conserve South Africa’s wildlife heritage.
