The first event of the Jeep winter experience will take place January 25th - 29th in Courchevel, in occasion of the prestigious festival of design 'Born Designers 2012', which will feature Jeep as official partner.

The main events of the Jeep winter will be available online at the www.jeep-people.com website: here under the ‘J Set’ section, Jeep enthusiasts will be able to relive the emotions of the winter happening through stories and images.

J Set is the ‘hallmark’ that characterizes all the locations customized by Jeep involved in the event and it emphasizes the brand’s link with the mountains and all environments in which nature and adventure combine with comfort and exclusivity.

With the purpose of offering some unforgettable entertainment to the guests staying in Courmayeur, Jeep has created a unique location: situated in the heart of the Valle d'Aosta town and featuring a refined ambiance, the J Set boasts traditional furnishings and contemporary design, presenting and elaborating signature features of the brand, that blend in seamlessly with the spectacular landscape of the Alps.

During daytime at the J Set, guests will have the opportunity to request information on the different models in the Jeep lineup as well as to book a test drive both on- and off-road on board Jeep Grand Cherokee, the flagship of the brand and the maximum expression of its elegance and power. Indeed, a special 4x4 track featuring obstacles found in real off-road driving built at the Courmayeur Cava will be available for visitors who want to enjoy an authentic off-road driving experience and test the extraordinary 4x4 capabilities of the Jeep flagship. On-road test drives will take place along the charming Hermitage route in the Courmayeur area.

Jeep Set Room

At the end of the day spent on the ski runs, the restaurant of the J Set will tickle the most demanding palates offering several delicious dishes of the traditional Valle d'Aosta cuisine and the ‘high altitude’ sushi made by the Japanese chef Christopher Son Valverde; the J Set will also entertain the public with exciting musical soirées.

Furthermore, at the exclusive Grand Hotel Royal & Golf in Courmayeur, a fleet of Jeep vehicles will shuttle guests to and from the ski slopes. Here, Jeep will also organize exclusive cocktail events in order to offer visitors the chance to be familiar with the Jeep world and the new models in the lineup.

Additional activities will take place at the same time in two of the most exclusive ski resorts in Europe: the Jeep winter experience will involve the guests of Courchevel, in France and of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in Germany. The signature ‘J Set’ will customise some of the most important locations in these resorts, that with a full program of events will be the meeting points for Jeep enthusiasts.

Located in the French Alps, Courchevel is well known as one of the most famous ski resorts worldwide. Today, January 25th, the French ski resort will open the Jeep winter event by hosting the 2012 edition of Born Designers. The brand will be the official partner of this prestigious festival of design that will host in the most exclusive locations of Courchevel the unique works created by 20 leading designers from around the world. Each original creation on display will be produced according to the philosophy "Active Luxury Lifestyle" that inspired the event and shares common features with the Jeep brand positioning (further information and details are available on http://www.borndesigners2012.com).

During the five days of the event, a fleet of Jeep Grand Cherokees and Jeep Wranglers will be at the disposal of the guests attending the festival.

In Courchevel, the J Set will open at the elegant Yacht Club Cap Horn with an exclusive agenda of musical evenings. Customised by Jeep, the lounge bar of the Hotel Le Saint Roch will offer the Special Jeep Tonic, the all-new drink created specifically for Jeep. The exclusive Hotel Le Pralong will be the starting point for the test drives of Jeep Grand Cherokee. A courtesy car service will ensure transportation for the guests travelling between the various Jeep locations in Courchevel.

The Jeep winter event will continue in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the largest ski resort in Germany and home to the Alpine World Ski Championships 2011. At the German ski resort, test drives of Jeep Grand Cherokee will start from the elegant Café Amici located in the center of the Bavarian town. Cafè Amici will also host cocktails and soirées. The Jeep experience will continue on the ski runs as it will involve the Drehmöser 9, the chalet located on the mountainside of the Zugspitze, the highest peak in Germany.

Jeep chooses mountain resorts to strengthen its link with the outdoors, which is in the DNA of the brand. Indeed, the mountains are the setting where - more than in any other – the technology, reliability and safety of a 4x4 vehicle ensure the ability to cope with the most hostile surfaces and to handle the most extreme situations. Furthermore, these winter events represent for the brand the opportunity to meet with its enthusiasts in an exclusive setting where they can enjoy some relax and have fun together.

It will be also possible to follow the key events of the Jeep winter experience on the web: a selected Jeep 'blog friend' (one of those Jeep enthusiasts who identify themselves with the Jeep values and share their stories on the dedicated jeep-people.com section at http://www.jeep-people.com/it/blog-friends/) will be enjoying and narrating the main events on schedule through updates, pictures and videos. These contents will be available on all Jeep-People social channels: www.facebook.com/JeepOlllllllOpeople, https://twitter.com/Jeep_People, www.youtube.com/JeepOlllllllOPeople, www.flickr.com/jeep-people as well as on the Jeep People Instagram profile.

Flagship of the Jeep brand, Grand Cherokee represents its premium expression and its benchmark in terms of power, comfort and safety. With 4 million units sold across the world since it was launched in 1992, the fourth-generation of the Jeep flagship has been totally updated in its exterior and interior design and in its technical features, providing a new balance between on-road handling and off-road capabilities.

One of the main new features of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee is the Quadra-Lift™ air suspension system, which delivers optimum on- and off-road driving thanks to the availability of five height settings granting the possibility to change the ride height from 16.5 to 27 cm of ground clearance. Another important new feature of the new generation Grand Cherokee is the Selec-Terrain™ traction control with five terrain settings for excellent on- and off-road performance and control.

The extraordinary off-road capabilities of Jeep Grand Cherokee are granted by two sophisticated 4x4 systems: Quadra-Trac II® and Quadra-Drive® II with a rear electronic limited slip differential (ELSD). These systems are assisted by standard Hill Descent Control, for maximum downhill control, and Hill Start Assist, granting a smooth launch on a grade.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee lineup features a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine with MultiJet II technology and two petrol engine options: the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and the legendary 5.7-liter V-8 with MDS. Three are the available trim levels: Laredo, Limited and Overland.

In 2011, the Jeep range was completely renewed thanks to the introduction of four main models: the legendary Jeep Wrangler and its four-door version Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, the flagship Jeep Grand Cherokee powered by a turbo diesel 3.0 CRD engine with MultiJet II technology and the new Compass, the compact urban SUV of the Jeep family.
