Born in the United States in the 1990's, ski cross is an extremely technical and spectacular skiing discipline. It consists of skiing down an artificially shaped slope featuring jumps, bumps and parabolic curves. The combination of technique and tactics is the formula that leads the athletes to victory in the exciting challenges in which enthusiasts of this sport test their skills.

The Red Bull Kronplatz Cross will take place at night time following an innovative relay race format. The qualifiers are slated for today, February 10th. Only 19 top ranking teams will compete in the finals planned for February 11th, when the competition will get harder due to the additional participation of 5 teams of professional ski crossers. Beside the Jeep team, the following ones will join the competition: the Red Bull team, the Suisse team, the France team e the Italy team. A total of 24 teams will participate to the grand final.

Jeep will bring the audience following the event the opportunity to test the brand’s flagship Jeep Grand Cherokee and the iconic Jeep Wrangler both on and off-road. A special off-road track with obstacles found in real off-road driving will be built for the occasion in order to have visitors enjoy an authentic off-road experience and test the extraordinary capabilities of the Jeep SUVs also in the snow. The 'Jeep Night', organized at the Gassl chalet in Valdaora, will delight its guests with a pleasant evening of entertainment.

The new sponsorship results from the sharing of values between Jeep and the world of high-altitude sports: freedom, adventure and passion are definitely in the DNA of those who ski and practice the most extreme skiing disciplines. Moreover, just as in ski cross technique and skills are what allow the athletes to get past the difficulties of a ski run built on insidious surfaces, in the same way, every Jeep model ensures the driver the ability to overcome any obstacle thanks to benchmark technology and unmatched off-road expertise.
