- XFR wows the crowds with a live action chase at CarFest
28 August 2012: Jaguar XFR played a starring role in the CarFest motoring event over the August Bank Holiday weekend, taking part in a crowd-pleasing ‘live action’ chase sequence.
The 510bhp XFR saloon went head to head with a Ford Focus RS, recreating a high-octane scene from the much-anticipated new movie The Sweeney. The two vehicles were driven by professional stunt drivers from renowned company Paul Swift Precision Driving. Starring Ray Winstone and Ben Drew (aka musician Plan B), the film is released in UK cinemas on 12 September.
The supercharged XFR is the most dynamic and exhilarating expression of Jaguar sporting luxury. Powered by a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine, it can sprint to 60mph from a standing start in 4.7 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
CarFest is a brand new motoring event for enthusiasts, and is the brainchild of DJ and broadcaster Chris Evans. It was staged at Laverstoke Park Farm, an estate in Overton, Hampshire, owned by ex-Formula 1 champion Jody Scheckter.
The XFR and other Jaguar cars were on show throughout the two-day event, which was attended by 15,000 petrolheads. The vehicles will also be present at CarFest North, to be staged at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire on 8-9 September 2012.
