  • Hyundai Motor UK delivers third successive year of sales growth
  • UKmarket share rises to 3.24%
  • 63,577 units sold in 2011

Hyundai Motor UK is delighted to announce it has achieved a third consecutive year of record breaking sales after finishing the year on 63,577* units in total, a rise of 2.3% on 2010’s figures. Hyundai has also enjoyed an increase in market share too, rising to 3.24% for 2011.

Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO Hyundai Motor UK, says: “As a franchise we found the market incredibly difficult but we defied the overriding market conditions and posted yet another year of record volumes. For 2011 we launched two new products – the i10 facelift and the i40 Tourer – and 2012 promises to be an even more exciting year for Hyundai with no less than eight new products joining the range.”

Hyundai has continued to perform strongly in terms of retail sales. However, it managed to increase fleet sales by over 53% to 28,593 units when compared with 2010’s figures.

Whitehorn adds: “For the forthcoming year, we’ll have fleet offerings including the recently launched i40 Tourer and Saloon in addition to the ix35 and imminently the new i30, which will mark another step-change in Hyundai UK’s continued progress.”

In 2011, Hyundai’s top-selling model was the i10 city car topping 20,000 units complemented by i20 and current i30, which sold 12,121 and 13,201 units respectively.
