GWM had an impactful presence at the recent Durban Motor Show on 2 to 4 November, introducing its brand new H6 SUV to the public for the first time.

Durban Motor Show

Hailed South Africa’s most successful regional motor exhibition, the first Durban Motor Show took place 20 years ago. KZN residents are developing a growing appetite for motor entertainment, as the relocation of the Top Gear show from Johannesburg to Durban testifies.

As such, the Durban Motor Show provides an effective and popular platform for motor manufactures to showcase their latest vehicle ranges and interact with the public each year – and GWM is no exception.

GWM Gateway, the latest dealership to join GWM’s network of 78, welcomed visitors to the visually striking red and white GWM exhibition stand. Apart from well-known favourites like the Steed 5 pick-up range, H5 SUV and the newly launched C10 compact hatch, show visitors feasted their eyes on the new H6 SUV.

This newcomer was China’s best-selling SUV in September 2012. If the South African public’s response is anything to go by, the H6 promises to be a worthy addition to the GWM vehicle range.

Design-wise, the H6 boasts refined lines and sportier contours, making it a highly attractive alternative for both male and female SUV connoisseurs. Comfort and safety features abound, and visitors were delighted by its super spacious boot and luxurious interior. The GWM H6 will be available at GWM dealerships early in 2013.

Tony Pinfold, Chairman of GWM South Africa, says: “Every opportunity to interact with existing and potential GWM customers gives us great insight into our market. Needless to say, we find events like the Durban Motor Show highly valuable brand building exercises.

Seeing the public’s increasingly positive response to our affordable quality proposition, and new vehicles like the H6 in particular, makes us even more determined to exceed their expectations.”

In 2013, GWM will celebrate its sixth year in South Africa and is planning more new vehicle launches to mark the occasion.
