Aspiring automotive journalists are being given a helping hand thanks to a comprehensive new booklet from The Guild of Motoring Writers: So You Want To Be A Motoring Writer.
The free 16-page publication, which has been produced with the kind assistance of Infiniti Europe, has been written by Guild committee member and Coventry University Automotive Journalism MA lecturer Andrew Noakes. It’s the perfect introduction for anyone who is aiming to work in automotive media, whether they’re a school leaver or someone considering a career change.
So You Want To Be A Motoring Writer discusses routes into the industry, education, training and work experience, and the wide variety of media and disciplines available. The booklet also includes expert advice from leading names such as Autocar Editor in Chief Steve Cropley, GoMW Chairman Charlotte Blight and CAR Associate Editor Tim Pollard. In addition, there’s an overview of the Guild’s two annual prizes exclusively for new motoring writers: the Sir William Lyons and Phil Llewellin Awards.
