- BP-Ford World Rally Team claimed victory and a double podium today on the Swedish Rally, second round of the FIA World Rally Championship.
- Marcus Grönholm and Timo Rautiainen claimed their fifth Swedish Rally title in a Ford Focus RS World Rally Car after winning 11 of the 20 ice and snow-covered speed tests. Team-mates Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen were third in another Focus RS.
- The result moves reigning world champions BP-Ford to within one point of the leaders in the manufacturers’ championship. Grönholm lies second in the drivers’ series, with Hirvonen third.
- Three Focus RS World Rally Cars finished in the top four as Henning Solberg claimed fourth for the Stobart VK M-Sport Ford team.
