GM Appoints Dominic Rimmer New Planning Manager for Africa Operations

Dominic Rimmer, currently GM South Africa Isuzu Program & Powertrain Planning Manager, has been appointed to the new position of General Manager, Planning & Program Management for GM Africa. In this new role, Rimmer will have overall responsibility for the company's planning and program management efforts across the region.

Rimmer began his career with General Motors South Africa in the Sales Division in 1989 where he held various positions before being appointed as the Opel Motorsport Manager in January 1996.  He held that position until the company withdrew from Motorsport at the end of December 1999.

Following his role in the Motorsport division Rimmer held positions in the Engineering division of GM South Africa. During which time he also served as an ISP (International Service Person) in Sao Caetano in Brazil, where his responsibilities included those of Engineering Group Manager – Interiors, and prior to that Vehicle Performance Manager, also in Brazil.

Dominic holds a NHD in Mechanical Engineering from the Nelson Mandela Metropole University and BCompt from UNISA.
