In addition to the vehicle sponsorship, Toyota will sponsor a brand new Toyota Corolla Quest to the Comrades AmaBeadiBeadi Charity Initiative.

The Comrades Marathon has grown in leaps and bounds since its inception in 1921 to the World's Greatest Ultra Marathon. With just under 23 000 runners already signed up for this race, it promises to be exciting from start to finish.

"Toyota South Africa has always been a keen supporter of South African Athletics and the Comrades Marathon. The race is one of the biggest in the world and it is run in the city that is home to our manufacturing plant, so it is a natural fit. We are proud to once again be involved with this iconic race," says Toyota Senior Manager for Promotions and Sponsorships, Nicole August. Toyota will also have a stand at the Comrades expo held at the Durban Exhibition Centre from 28 - 30 May, to drive entries to win the Toyota Corolla Quest, which is the prize in this year's Amabeadibeadi SMS competition.

Toyota will be leading the race with Corolla Quest vehicles and as it has become custom, the 'last mile' will be painted in red and white in an attempt to uplift runners' spirits for the last section of the grueling race before the end of race. This year, Toyota will also have a DJ in the last mile to entertain runners and spectators.

** For the Amabeadibeadi SMS competition, the public can SMS the word "TOYOTA" to 34068 and stand a chance to win the Corolla Quest (valued at R183 900). Each SMS will cost R1.50 and all proceeds will be donated to the associated Amabeadibeadi charities. The live draw of the winner will take place between 16h00-17h00 on Sunday, 31 May 2015.
