“The changes we are introducing on Focus may appear minor but they offer a lot of added value for the customer. They come as a result of the feedback we received from customers and looking at current market trends. The new additions make the Focus an even more compelling choice for customers,” says Ben Pillay, Ford Marketing Manager.

All the key strengths of the Focus remain including the no-compromise approach to safety which includes the Ford Intelligent Protection System (IPS). The Focus maintains a robust list of standard active and passive safety features including its rigid, reinforced passenger cell.

To enhance the overall Focus safety package, larger exterior side mirrors improve driver’s side visibility. All new Focus series variants come fitted with a clever automatic hazard warning light activation system that warns following drivers of emergency braking manoeuvres.

ABS braking technology is available on all models while Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Traction Control (TCS) makes its debut with the PowerShift system, ensuring the driver maintains vehicle stability during all driving situations.

Among the passive safety system are driver and passenger front and side airbags (standard across the range) and inflatable side and curtain airbags for front and rear-seat occupants on all higher grade Si derivatives.

“The Focus is a highly competitive player in the medium car market offering great value for money, compelling styling and superior driving dynamics. We are introducing some minor updates to the range that will add even further appeal,” adds Pillay.

All Ford Focus models come standard with Ford’s warranty and service plan, which comprises of a four-year / 120 000km fully comprehensive manufacturer warranty, five-year Corrosion warranty and five-year / 90 000km Service Plan. Service intervals are scheduled at 20 000km for petrol and 15 000km for diesel derivatives. A Ford Protect roadside assistance plan is in place for three-years / unlimited km.
