Silverton, Pretoria – 12 July 2010 – Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) has appointed Dean Stoneley as its new Vice President Marketing, Sales and Service effective from July 2010. Stoneley replaces Jacques Brent who has accepted a position as Executive Marketing Director for Ford Asia Pacific and Africa, based in Shanghai.

While it is a loss to us he is faced with a fantastic and challenging opportunity and we wish him the best of luck and every success in his future endeavors,” says Jeffery Nemeth, president and CEO, Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa. “We are however extremely pleased and privileged to welcome Dean to the team. He brings with him a wealth of experience and we wish him every success in his new role.
Dean Stoneley most recently held the position of Vice President of marketing for Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited, appointed to the position in March 2008. During his 17 years at Ford, Stoneley has held a variety of leadership roles in sales and marketing in both Canada and the United States.
Stoneley began his career at Ford in an entry-level job in the customer relationship centre. After 15 months in that position, he moved into sales within the Great Lakes region. Following that, Stoneley held sales and marketing positions across Canada before relocating to Dearborn as a marketing brand manager for Ford and Lincoln.
During his four years in Dearborn, Stoneley was responsible for numerous product launches including the Ford Mustang, GT and Focus. He also led the Ford Fusion launch in Canada and received an award in 2006 from Alan Mulally, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company, in recognition of his success. Mulally also awarded Stoneley and his team with the 2007 award for “Fueling Growth in Canada.”
Prior to his current position, he launched two successful primary brand campaigns in Canada: ‘Powered by You’ and ‘Drive One’ as the director of marketing communications for Ford of Canada. During that time, market share increased at Ford of Canada.
Stoneley attended the University of Western Ontario and holds an honours degree in Political Science. He also holds a seat on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA), the largest marketing association in Canada.
Stoneley is married with three children; two girls and a boy. He enjoys music, photography, art and is a car and motorcycle enthusiast.
