JOHANNESBURG, – Ford, Official vehicle supplier to the Springboks and SA Rugby have collaborated to launch a new website (backtheboks.co.za) which will give Springbok supporters unique access to the team over the next couple of weeks.
Providing fans have internet access or a cell phone, they’ll be able to learn more about the great spectacle and even interact online with the Springbok Team. This interaction culminates sending a personalized message to any member of the Bok team or the team as a whole. The website user will firstly be required to log onto backtheboks.co.za. This will give them access to team news, and interesting information, the messaging system, a media section, fixtures, results and much more.
The website has been developed for Ford Motor Company of Southern by JWT South Africa and Next Digital, a digital hothouse well known for their capabilities and effectiveness in the digital world.
The video of the day is the main focal point, and once a few seconds have been taken to digest everything on screen, one realizes the functionality spread over the layout. Features include Send a Message, Message Gallery, Game Highlights, Springbok Moments, Springbok Fixtures, Rugby Deals, Media Downloads and Player Profiles. Underlying amongst all these options is the irrefutable value of the interaction that fans get to have with the Springboks as they challenge for rugby’s most prestigious prize.
Channels through which actual messages, images and videos of support are uploaded include the web-based entry system and an SMS number. Users also experience a nice personal touch when their messages are responded to by Jake White thanking them for their support. In addition, users will receive post-match updates written by Jake and uploaded after each game.
The download section includes anything and everything that is the related to the Springbok Rugby Team and Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa. Wallpapers, images, screensavers, hot cars and favourite rugby players will be available to download for free. The Springbok Moments section will allow users to paste pictures of their faces onto in-game pictures of the Springboks.
The player profiles section as the name implies will provide details, pictures and other information about Springbok Rugby players. Users will be able to cruise around the profiles of their favourite players and read about interests, personal stats, caps and more. It’s the ultimate means of allowing South Africa to feel closer to their rugby team than ever before! And with the added ability of being able to support the players through personal messages, images and video the interaction goes up a level.
The goal for backtheboks.co.za is simple: to promote the brands involved and to provide a positive platform where something that most South Africans love such as rugby can be appreciated, commented on and lived by all those who choose to participate.
So you’d better log onto backtheboks.co.za as soon as you can and get those support messages rolling… the Boks have got a tournament to win, and they’d love to get some of your valuable support.
