To meet with growing demand, Ford has further refined the award-winning Ford Focus for 2007.

The Ford Focus continues to be amongst the leaders in the C- segment both locally and internationally, thanks to its spirited driving character, contemporary exterior design and smart interior. And, as it has from the beginning, Focus delivers award-winning quality, environmentally responsible emissions, superb passenger space and low cost of ownership.

  • New front bumper
  • Revised rear bumper
  • Indicator repeaters mounted on side mirrors
  • New wheel designs
  • Introduction of New body colours
  • Curtain airbags optional on all models
  • Cruise control standard on 2-litre models

The Focus is entering its mid life cycle following its introduction into the market in 2005. The current generation Focus has been nominated as a South African Car of the Year finalist on two separate occasions: in 2006 with the Focus 2.0 TDCi and in 2007 with the Focus ST 3 door.

“The Focus has won critical acclaim in South Africa as well as abroad,” comments André Oosthuizen, Ford Marketing Manager. “The Focus offers buyers an exciting and rewarding experience – we hope to build on this platform with the introduction of the freshened Focus range.”

The new line-up continues to offer the same exciting and rewarding driving experience but with minor specification tweaks that enhance the overall appeal of the vehicle.
Interior changes include a change in the foil design of the centre stack and the addition of cruise control as a standard feature on all 2-litre derivatives.

In an attempt to further enhance the already impressive safety profile of the car, with the exception of the Focus 1.6 Ambiente, Ford will now offer all Focus models with curtain airbags as an optional extra. All models currently feature ABS brakes with EBD, and dual front airbags as standard equipment.  Side airbags are also a standard feature on all but the Focus Ambiente variants.

“South African consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of safe motoring. We at Ford believe that safety is of paramount importance and as such will offer side curtain air bags as an option on almost all Focus models.”

Subtle design enhancements to the exterior styling give the Focus a fresh new appearance. The front bumper is new, while the rear bumper now sports a painted lower section. Indicator repeaters mounted on the side mirrors not only add to the aesthetic appeal of the vehicle but are also a valuable safety feature.

Already available with a wide range of colour choices the Focus now offers an additional three metallic body colour options, namely: Tonic, Ocean and Plum Blush. A new range of wheel designs complete the look with three variations to choose from.

Sports derivatives will be set apart by an attractive standard kit, which includes side sill extensions, 17” alloy wheels, branded footwell carpets and branded sill protectors.

“We believe that Focus owners enjoy spending time in their vehicles. Therefore the revisions that have been implemented are small touches that will add to the owners overall enjoyment and provide an even more rewarding ownership experience,” concluded Oosthuizen.

Service intervals are 20 000 km for the petrol models and 15 000 km for the diesel derivatives. A five-year/60 000 km Ford Protect Maintenance Plan is standard on all models, as is a three-year/unlimited kilometers roadside assistance plan.

The warranty is applicable for three years /100 000 km, while the corrosion warranty is in place for five years/unlimited kilometers.
