September 2012 saw Ferrari North Europe host for the third year running the ‘Ferrari California Experience’ for some of UK’s most deserving children at the Silverstone Racing Circuit.
This very special day saw the Ferrari North Europe join forces with the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) to make 50 disabled, disadvantaged and seriously ill children dreams come true. The children this year were nominated by the automotive industry charity BEN and the Variety Children’s Charity.
During the day the children experienced the thrill and exhilaration of a 15 minute passenger ride in a stunning Ferrari California around the famous Silverstone Stowe racing circuit by professional drivers from the BRDC. They were also treated to a host of other treats including a children’s entertainer, face painting, driving simulators, artists and an escorted tour of the paddock and garages to view the Ferrari racing teams in action.
The event was introduced by Natalie Pinkham, the television and radio presenter who has recently appointed Formula one pit lane reporter for Sky Sports F1. Also on hand to help were the Variety Club’s ambassador and reigning Miss England, Charlotte Holmes and Miss Northampton, Nadina Knight.
Matteo Torre, Regional Manager of Ferrari North Europe commented, “This year’s Ferrari California Experience has been another unforgettable occasion for all who attended. Over the last three years we have made dreams come true for 150 exceptional children and we look forward to brightening the lives of many more in the years to come. I would also like to extend a massive thank you to all those organisations and individuals who so generously donated their time and expertise.”
BEN’s Events Manager, Kelly Neal said, “What a truly wonderful day! To see the faces of these children and witness their gratitude was a very humbling experience. Once again we are so grateful to Ferrari, the BRDC and everyone who was involved for making this day one to remember for our very deserving children. Thank you!”
