Today Google Ireland are displaying the Doodle 4 Google 2014 winner Google Doodle on their Ireland Search Engine homepage. The competition closed in December 2013 and public voting for the best Doodle 4 Google started on the 17th of February 2014 and voting closed on the 10th of March 2014.

The winner of the 2014 Doodle 4 Google Kelly McCabe was crowned the winner on the 24th of March 2014. She is a student from Scoil Carmel Junior National School in Firhouse Co, in Dublin Ireland.

The Doodle 4 Google Ireland Theme

In 2013 the Doodle 4 Google team announced that the theme for the year theme would be “My Adventure” and the competition was open to all students attending primary school, secondary school or any of the Youth Reach schools in Ireland.

As part of the winner prize Kelly McCabe received a 10,000 Pounds Technology grand for her school, and the Doodle 4 Google team also provided her with a 5,000 pounds reward for winning the Doodle 4 Google Ireland competition. The money that she won is to be used towards her college scholarship studies.

However the biggest award anyone can get from the competition is to have your Doodle 4 Google art work being displayed on Google which Google did on the 27th of March 2014.

Other Doodle 4 Google Winners

The four other group winners in the competition included:

  • Cian Mangan from Cloghan’s Hill National School in Tuam, Co Galway(Ages 4-6);
  • Emma Doyle from Ballyduff National School, Camolin, Co Wexford (Ages 9-12);
  • Naiara Abad Sanchez from Carndonagh Community School, Co Donegal (Ages 13-15)
  • Oisin O’Byrne from Ashbourne Community School in Meath (Ages 16-18).

According to Google Ireland 2390 students entered the Doodle 4 Google Ireland competition, and more than 120 000 public votes were casted to pick the winner.
