Doodle 4 Google 2014
Today 9 June 2014 Google Showcased their latest Doodle 4 Google winner doodle on the FrontPage of Google United States. The theme of the Doodle 4 Google 2014 competition was to draw an invention that would make the world a better place. According to Google they have received more than 100,000 entries for the Doodle 4 Google competition. The competition was held in 50 states and there were 250 state finalists.
To make the world a better place, I invented a transformative water purifier. It takes in dirty and polluted water from rivers, lakes, and even oceans, then massively transforms the water into clean, safe and sanitary water, when humans and animals drink this water, they will live a healthier life." - Audrey Zhang, 11
According to the Doodle 4 Google website they quickly lost count of all the delightful elements in the Audrey Zhang Google doodle, and they asked her to spend a day with them to explain her doodle 4 Google and the elements and inventions in the doodle to them.
Audrey Zhang received the honor of getting her artwork displayed on the Google Search Engine homepage for a day, and also received a $30.000 college scholarship from Google, and $50 000.00 Educational grant for her school. Google furthermore were so inspired by her doodle invention that google.org donated $20,000 in her name to charity:water toward providing clean water to schools in Bangladesh.
