With the 2014 Donaldson Cross-Country Motor Racing Championship around the corner the Elegant Fuel Cross-Country Motor Racing Team is looking forward to another successful season. The championship will once again consist of seven rounds across South Africa and a marathon event in Botswana. The season kicks off with the RFS 450 in Harrismith on the 28th of February. This event is new to the calendar and promises to deliver some exciting racing.
The team remains unchanged for the 2014 season with Quintin and Karl-Heinz Sullwald campaigning their BAT Venom with Hermann and Wichard Sullwald who will be out in their STRYKER. Last season the team enjoyed four Class A victories but fell off the championship pace due to some bad luck and reliability issues on the new race cars.
The team has invested in a new workshop facility where both cars are now based. Paul Helberg who has been part of the team for many seasons now heads up the workshop and his expertise will be invaluable.
“Our new workshop facility gives us the opportunity to do better preparation on the cars. Paul now works fulltime on the race cars and other special projects we have within our company. Together with the other workshop members we believe we have a strong and enthusiastic team that are able to ensure top results.”
Elegant Fuel now enters its 5th season as principal sponsor to the Sullwald Racing outfit. The team also enjoys further support by Faith Wheels as official transporter of the team’s service truck, a relationship that enters its 3rd season.
“We have been very fortunate to have fantastic sponsors and partners over the last couple of seasons. Elegant Fuel have once again committed themselves and their involvement has been instrumental to our past successes. We are dedicated to reward them with excellent results during the 2014 season.”
The team is proud to announce two additional partners that have come on board for the 2014 season. Limpopo Tyres (Polokwane) has come on board as the official tyre supplier to the team. Oil Shoppe has also committed themselves as the official oil and lube supplier for the season. Together with existing partners the team looks forward to great success.
“It is important for us to build solid relationships with our suppliers, we have been working closely with many of these companies for the past couple of years and their commitment to our racing team just helps bond our entities closer. The sponsors are well aware of the potential that cross-country motor racing has to increase their brand awareness not only within the sport but also to wider audiences. We look forward to helping them achieve the goals they have set out in 2014.”
