Mobil Delvac drivetrain lubricants achieve fuel economy savings
ExxonMobil’s range of Mobil Delvac commercial vehicle lubricants have been proven in independent testing to reduce fuel costs and extend vehicle life.
The recorded fuel economy benefits have the potential for fleet operators to make significant financial savings over a 12 month period. For example, a company operating a fleet of 30 HGV trucks may save nearly £40,000 a year by switching from mineral-based products to Mobil Delvac flagship lubricants.
“With fuel costs continuing to rise and fleet operators looking to extend the vehicle life of their trucks, it’s a win-win situation when operators switch to advanced, fuel-efficient lubricants throughout their drivetrain,” said Steve Crawley, UK and Ireland Commercial Vehicle Lubricants Manager, ExxonMobil Lubricants and Petroleum Specialties. “Alongside proven fuel economy benefits of Mobil Delvac drivetrain lubricants, the superior performance of synthetic lubricants provides extended engine and component protection, which may enable truck operators cost-effectively to extend the running-life of their fleet.”

Eco-Drive for refrigerated transport
Eco-Drive is a new truck driven refrigerated transport system that will be launched at this year’s CV Show. It is designed and manufactured in the UK and can be fitted to most truck makes and models.
Eco-Drive constantly delivers electricity to power the refrigeration unit when the truck engine is running, eliminating the need to run a separate fridge engine when on the move. It works with rigid or articulated units, captures waste energy to power the fridge, saves fuel, reduces noise and pollution and makes significant CO2 savings.
The Eco-Drive system has been vigorously tested by leading refrigerated transport groups and supermarkets and has delivered excellent returns. Indications are that when fitted to refrigerated vehicles, the system can save £1,500-£3,000 per vehicle a year.
Remote tachograph download fully revealed by Tachosys
Tachosys will make its fifth appearance at the CV Show in 2012, demonstrating the whole concept of remote download. This technology can save companies hundreds of man hours.
In simple terms, companies that adopt digiDL no longer need to waste time manually downloading vehicle tachographs or collecting driver card data as digiDL will do all of this in the background. The customer decides a schedule for vehicles and driver cards and the rest happens automatically with data arriving at the desired location.
Tachosys will also show prototypes of its next generation of products, including hardware and applications for the latest Smartphones and Tablets.
