New car ‘Oscars’ on January 11, 2012

For the first time ever, What Car? has revealed the cars in contention for its coveted Car of the Year Awards, which will take place on Wednesday, January 11.

Between now and the prestigious ceremony, What Car?’s judges will deliberate, debate and determine the cars that are to be presented with the sought-after awards, which cover 13 individual car categories and one overall winner.

What Car? editor-in-chief Chas Hallett said: “The decision-making process this year is going to be harder than ever, because the automotive industry keeps building better, more economical and more desirable cars that offer consumers great value for money.  The objective of the annual What Car? Awards is to let our readers know the best car in every class.

“The final decision is far from settled and many more miles of driving and hours of controversial discussions will take place between now and January 11.”
