If you visit the Waterfall and Atrium Gardens over the next few days you will get to see the 128 foot Giant Dragon. The Dragon is symbolic of the Chinese Zodiac. It is the only fictional animal in the Chinese Zodiac and believed to bring power, luck and fortune. Every 12 years is a dragon year in the Chinese Zodiac and usually means plenty of good things will come of the New Chinese year.
The Giant Dragon in the Palazzo Waterfall and Atrium Gardens were specially constructed for the 2012 Chinese New Year Celebrations. The Dragon weighs more than eight thousand pounds, and was designed by more than one hundred artists. The dragon was assembled and created in a variety of pieces and were assembled similar to Lego blocks fitting each piece and part tightly into each other. The dragon was designed by painters, designers and sculptures from across the world making the master piece a truly international art work.
Statistics from past visitors to Las Vegas over the Chinese New Year shows that more and more Chinese people choose to travel to Las Vegas for their Chinese New Year Celebrations. After seeing the detail that have gone into the design and creation of the Chinese New Year Dragon many people may decide to visit these hotels just to see the splendor of the Chinese New Year Dragon.
