The organiser of the UK’s largest B2B low carbon vehicle event for manufacturers, technology providers and fleet operators has confirmed the event venue and is predicting a record attendance for its fifth year.
) will take place at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire on 5 – 6 September, and presents an opportunity for all stakeholders in the low carbon vehicle sector to showcase and evaluate current and future technologies, to discuss the issues facing the sector, and to test drive the latest low carbon cars, vans, buses and trucks.
The event’s organiser, Cenex – the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for low carbon and fuel cell technologies – partners with a number of Government departments and industry heavyweights to ensure the event offers exhibitors and guests the most comprehensive access to the latest technologies, initiatives and discussions that are driving the UK’s low carbon vehicle sector.
Cenex Chief Executive Officer, Robert Evans said: “This year’s LCV event promises to be the most exciting yet. There is huge momentum within the UK low carbon vehicle sector, from the R&D community through to industry and end users and we see vehicle manufacturers and technology providers delivering high-quality and increasingly competitive low carbon vehicle solutions. This, in turn, is generating more dynamic conversations among corporate and public sector fleet operators across the country.
“We are proud of the position occupied by the annual LCV event as the industry’s key showcasing and networking event and will be working hard to ensure the highest quality event for exhibitors and attendees,” continues Evans. “We have partnered with Millbrook on previous LCV events and look forward to working with them again for LCV2012. The venue is familiar to the majority of our previous exhibitors and provides excellent facilities for the exhibition, seminar and the ride-and-drive activities. As interest in low carbon vehicles is increasing, I’m anticipating record numbers of exhibitors and visitors at LCV2012, and for the event to be the most productive yet for all concerned.”
Miguel Fragoso, Managing Director of Millbrook, added: “For the last four years LCV has played an essential role in bringing together technologists, engineers, policy makers and end users. This is a really exciting time to be involved in the low carbon vehicle industry and the team at Millbrook is looking forward to ensuring an exciting LCV2012, and building on the success of the previous events hosted here.”
Cenex’s LCV events are held in partnership with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the Technology Strategy Board, and UK Trade and Investment.
Last year, LCV2011 attracted over 2,300 visitors and 110 exhibitors, including high-profile vehicle manufacturers such as Jaguar Land Rover, Ford, Nissan and General Motors, as well as a host of technology and infrastructure suppliers.
