The Pretoria Old Motor Club has successfully negotiated an extra access road which will be in operation for the 2015 edition of South Africa’s biggest car show, the Cars in the Park, scheduled for August 2, 2015.
Round 2 of the 2015VW Challenge took place at Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday, 21 March where 33 cars took to the 2.4km circuit. When the dust had settled at the end of the day Rory Atkinson (Comsol VW Polo) emerged at the top of the overall and class A result sheet. Class B went the way of Gerhard Henning (Toyota Replacement Parts Polo) with Henry van Vledder, back in his trusty Golf 2, taking class C.
THE South African Single-Seaters started their 2015 season in dramatic fashion at Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday. On-track contact, close racing and even the weather all factored into the action on the day.
The Engen Xtreme Racing Team starts their 2015 national motorsport season at Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday, 21 February with Michael Stephen and Simon Moss again behind the wheels of their Engen Xtreme Audi S4 Quattros.
THE 2014 champion in the Formula Volkswagen category is Nicholas van Weely (87 – Anglorand). Van Weely claimed the title at the final round of the championship at Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday. The last of the Super Series events for 2014.
Championship finale is a nailbiter for South African Single-Seaters
WHEN the Formula Volkswagens take to Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday, 1 November, it is going to be for two very demanding races. The leading racers in the series are identically matched on points for the season and it will demand a focused approach for the driver hoping to claim the title the season.
Competition in the Bridgestone Production Car Championship has been fierce this season. The on-track battles for position and points has demanded the most from every racer in the series.
And the winners in this final round of the SA Rotax Max Challenge Series will represent South Africa in Spain in late November.

Bradley Liebenberg won the Rotax Max Challenge DD2 final at Saturday’s prestigious Rotax African Open meeting after emerging from a dramatic last lap incident that took place on the final corner with the chequered flag in site of the leaders.
