Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town  is especially important this year as Cape Town was bestowed the honour of ‘World Design Capital of 2014’ and will express nothing but creative freedom in the form of ‘fashion, art and design’.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town fashion show is geared to take every fashionista’s breath away, not only with the latest clothing fashion trends, but also with a showcase of the latest and greatest cars from Mercedes-Benz. More than 20 of the country’s top designers will present their spring/summer collections in no less than17 shows at the chic Cape Town International Convention Centre from the 24th to the 26th of July.

South Africa’s top designers, such as Marianne Fassler, popular for her distinguished designs; Gavin Raja,for his attention to detail and craftsmanship as well as Stefania Morland and Leigh Schubert, will take to the runway in elegance and style. Audiences will appreciate the talent of the newcomers, whose work is guaranteed to be exceptional. Menswear will also have an extensive line-up from leading labels such as Fabiani, Craig Port and Ruald Rheeder.

KLUK CGDT, Tart, Shana, Loin Cloth and Ashes, are amongst other elite labels to showcase their designs. The line-up also includes emerging designers featured in the African Fashion International (AFI) Next Generation incubation programme, who will flaunt  their new age interpretations.

As a trend-setter for more than 128 years, Mercedes-Benz has created visionary modern designs during every automotive styling era and will highlight a fashion icon of its own during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town.

“The C-Class is a bestseller that has always been a trendsetter in the mid-size luxury segment. Our new C-Class embodies what we understand modern automotive luxury to be and showcases automotive passion by way of a contemporary design idiom. We are especially proud of our C-Class, which is manufactured at our award-winning plant in East London,” adds Govender.

 

Technical expertise and great aesthetic appeal address both the heart and mind, and Fashion Week patrons will have an opportunity to get up close and personal and view this latest model and the design harmony imbued in it.
