Bridgestone South Africa snatched a podium place at the Annual Cheetah Karting Day, held at the Zwartkops Kart Track on September 13. The tyre company entered three teams in the drive to raise money for the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre at De Wildt.

Competing against teams which featured celebrities including singers, racing drivers, and presenters from well-known radio stations, one of the Bridgestone teams held off some spirited opposition to finish in third place overall.

The event raised R54 000 for the Cheetah Centre.

"We're very proud of our team for getting onto the podium in the face of strong competition," said Bridgestone SA's Chantel Baxter. "We make a wide contribution to wildlife protection through programmes such as the Cape Leopard Trust and the Endangered Wildlife Trust's Roadkill research project, and we're glad to once again have been able to make a difference. Congratulations to our team and the organisers!" she concluded.
