On Thursday 30 August the automotive industry charity, BEN hosted its prestigious President’s Annual Charity Golf Day at the stunning Royal Automotive Club at Woodcote Park in Surrey. The event was hosted by BEN’s President Joe Greenwell and over £8,600 was raised for the charity.
Attended by companies and individuals from the automotive world there were a total of 23 teams who took part in the golfing championship. The challenge of the day was to win the title of ‘Industry Champions’. The challenge was a tough one that British Car Auctions stood up to and took home the Claret Jug with a massive 94pts. An equally impressive score of 40pts individually ensured Craig Purvey’s name, from Team BCA, was engraved onto the Iliffe Cup for best individual stableford score. ‘Nearest the Pin’ and the ‘Longest Drive’ prizes were won by BEN’s own Head of Business and Development, Peter Cottle and Tom Blackett from Activa Contracts.
BEN’s President, Joe Greenwell commented, “Once again the industry stepped up for BEN at the President’s Golf Day. It was wonderful to play the old course at Woodcote Park. A big thank you to everyone who participated and to the Royal Automobile Club who hosted us all so well.”
Warren Neal, BEN’s Events and Exhibitions Co-ordinator said, “The President’s Golf Day continues to be one of BEN’s successful fundraising events. Thanks to everyone at the Royal Automobile Club for making the BEN team, and everyone who attended, feel welcome at what looks to be the home of the event for the foreseeable future. And of course thanks to all those who took time out of their busy schedule to support this event, it is very much appreciated.”
