BMW Group seeks 200 new apprentices to join UK manufacturing and retailer operations in 2015

In its MINI UK production network, the business is looking for 47 new apprentices to take up places in August 2015. In addition, BMW and MINI retailers are looking to recruit around 150 young people across the UK, a third more than in 2014.

Pretoria – BMW South Africa, in partnership with Hewlett-Packard (HP), Datacentrix and the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), officially launched the Computer Applications Technology (C.A.T.) Schools Programme yesterday at the Soshanguve High School, north of Pretoria. The Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Mr Enver Surty presented a keynote address in support of this initiative.

BMW GROUP TO INCREASE NUMBER OF UK APPRENTICES IN 2012

BMW Group is increasing the number of UK apprenticeships available through its company and dealership schemes to around 200 in 2012. The intake is set to double this year to 70 places at MINI’s three production sites across the UK as the plants prepare for the next model generation. In addition, BMW and MINI dealerships are looking to recruit around 130 young people across the UK.

Relaunch of the BMW Welt Junior Campus.

New focus on sustainability in automotive production.

Munich. The reopening of the Junior Campus at BMW Welt was celebrated with a function on Friday 27 May.  Willi Weitzel, “guest educator” and moderator of the event, joined a class of elementary school children in exploring the redesigned Campus Portal together with other guests included representatives of the press, the public and the company. Later, Weitzel and a group of seventh-grade girls built a solar vehicle in keeping with the revised Campus concept.
