40 Years Audi Sport Gmbh

Audi is a German luxury car manufacturer with a long and rich history. The company was founded in 1909 by August Horch as the Audi Automobilwerke GmbH Zwickau, which later became the Audi AG. The brand name “Audi” was created from the last name of the founder, August Horch, which in Latin means “hear.”

In the early years, Audi built luxury cars and was known for its innovation and engineering excellence. In 1932, the company introduced its first car with a left-handed drive, which was considered a major breakthrough in the automotive industry. During World War II, the company was forced to halt production and was eventually absorbed into the Auto Union group.

In the post-war years, Audi struggled and underwent several changes in ownership before eventually becoming a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG in 1965. Under Volkswagen’s ownership, Audi invested heavily in research and development and the introduction of new technologies. This led to the production of several iconic models, such as the Audi Quattro, which was the first car to feature all-wheel drive, and the Audi 100, which was one of the first vehicles to feature aerodynamic design.

In recent years, Audi has continued to innovate and has become one of the leading luxury car brands in the world. The company has invested heavily in electric and autonomous vehicle technology, and is at the forefront of the industry in terms of sustainability and eco-friendliness. Audi has won several awards for its vehicles and continues to be recognized for its innovation, design, and engineering excellence.
