24th November 2011 – Automotive PR has further extended its global reach with the creation of APR India, in partnership with Indian company, Making News PR & Events.

APR India is the latest addition to the APR international network and builds on the successful creation of APR Scandinavia and APR Benelux earlier this year, along with an already proven European portfolio including APR Germany, APR France, APR Italy, APR Spain, and global presence in the USA, China and Brazil.

Meghna Ramchandani, managing director of APR India, said: “We are really keen to collaborate with APR due to our common area of focus and expertise. Joining forces with APR helps us to reach out to companies across the globe who would like to do business in India. This joint venture brings to the table APR’s professional services and global reach along with the Indian auto industry experience of Making News PR & Events.”

APR India is run by Meghna and her business partner, Jaya Shetty. With almost 20 years’ combined experience, Meghna and Jaya bring a diverse range of expertise to the company. Meghna, who graduated from Oxford Brookes University in the UK, has worked in the Indian automotive sector for the last nine years, holding key positions for both Skoda Auto India and Autobahn Enterprises. She was also recently awarded the Youth Council’s ‘Young Achievers’ trophy for being the ‘youngest female achiever in the Indian auto industry’.

Jaya, who completed a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from Symbiosis in Pune, has worked with top Indian production houses for major brands such as Tata Indicom, HSBC, Sony Phones 4 U and Reliance.

Marco Ferrari, managing director at APR said: “India is home to many major automotive companies and is a fast-growing target market for the global motor business. The creation of APR India enables us to explore another fascinating and vast automotive market and we are looking forward to creating new business links throughout the country.

“Having a new network base in India, together with the knowledge and contacts of Making News, is great news for many of APR’s existing clients, and of course, ensures we can offer even more to our new relationships going forward.”

Making News has already worked with several big brands in the Indian Automotive market, including Autocar India, Farenheit Automobiles, Autobahn Enterprises, Castrol Speed Run, the NDTV Car and Bike Show, and Skoda India.
